Can I sell my trailer on site? What is the process?
Yes, you can sell your trailer on site. It must be less than 15 yrs. old and pass a site inspection by Tuckahoe's management (i.e. If your trailer is a 2007, it can't be sold after 12/31/2021). You must pay a 5% for sale fee (5% of the final sale price shown on the Bill of Sale for the entire package). A $500.00 deposit is required up front at which time your listing gets added to the "Tuckahoe for Sale List." The $500.00 will be refunded ONLY if your trailer is not sold. The balance of the 5% For Sale Fee must be paid by THE SELLER prior to the buyers taking over the campsite.
Why do I have to pay a 5% For Sale Fee?
Your camping equipment (trailer, deck, shed, sunroom, golf cart, etc.) is worth MUCH MORE sitting on a seasonal site in Tuckahoe with no vacancies & a long waiting list. The PRIVILEGE of being allowed to sell on our campsites provides multiple benefits to you. Keep in mind, you have the option to avoid the 5% for sale fee by removing your own equipment from Tuckahoe & selling it yourself OFF the premises.
Can I pay for rent (or decks, sheds, grass-cutting, service work, etc.) with my credit card?
Yes, but there is a 2% convenience fee to pay with a card on all “registration” transactions (anything other than store retail items). We welcome cash or checks if you want to avoid the fee.
Can I pay to have my site’s grass mowed?
Yes, just place your name/site# on the list on the bulletin board with frequency (once-a-week, or as-needed). Please call the office if you are in need of a one-time grass cut.
Why did I receive a $25 grass bill?
If you do not request your grass to be cut, overgrown grass gets cut and billed at $25/cut. There is extra wear and tear on community mowers as well as extra time/effort to cut it when it’s overgrown, hence the additional cost.
Where can I get my golf cart serviced?
We recommend PASCO Battery Warehouse in Millsboro. (302-934-8315)
Can I store my boat/trailer at Tuckahoe?
Yes, but only ACTIVELY-USED boats may be stored on Tuckahoe property. You must show an up-to-date boat registration in the office to receive a free boat storage sticker that is to be displayed on the front of the boat trailer, along with clearly marked site # stickers.
Where can I park my utility trailer?
You may TEMPORARILY park it on your site if it will fit. You must obtain a temporary parking pass to park it anywhere else on Tuckahoe property.
Who can use my trailer when I am not here?
Immediate family only may use your trailer when you are not here. Absolutely NO SUB-LEASING! Sub-leasing is grounds for automatic eviction.
Can my friends put their tent or pop-up camper on my site temporarily?
Yes, however, the same rules apply for guest camping. It is $75 /night for a tent or a camper.
I don't have power at my site? What should I do?
*Check to be sure all breakers are on, inside your trailer AND at your electric box.
*If breaker is tripped, flip it on.
*If that does not fix it, report the issue to the office staff.
I have to cancel my transient reservation. Can I get my deposit back?
No, deposits for the following year are non-refundable.
Can I rent the beach and/or the pavilion for a wedding or party?
Yes, please see our Activities Director, Charity King, for specifics regarding weddings. The pavilion can be rented for a private party. (Cost: $150 for 4 hours and $75 each additional hour)
Our paint codes will work at any Sherwin-Williams location.
